According to one theory, it originated in the colder parts of the world where hot water was not available. Since cold water was very harsh to use on one’s body, they came up with a substitute. In fact, many parts of world consider that people, who come from or belong to places where water is used to wash after defecation instead of toilet paper, are dirty and filthy.

Indian sub-continent including countries like Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan and Bangladesh practice washing as their preferred method of cleaning up.

Bidets has changed the way man poops and it was given to world by a leading developed nation, Japan. At most urban places all over the world, bidets have been introduced in order to keep the hands clean. Bidet is a water outlet attached through a pipe to clean the behind after one has excreted. It sprays water and therefore, keeps your hands from touching the bums.

There has been a constant rivalry between the use of water and toilet paper. While people who used toilet paper believe that it is a more hygienic way of cleaning as you do not come in contact with poop, water users believe that their method is better.

And although we don’t have many facts to defend the paper users, we surely have a handful of points which can prove that water washing is definitely a better option.

Manufacturing of toilet paper rolls takes up a huge amount of electricity, water, trees and polluted the environment. Hence, it takes a toll on the environment and only deteriorates the present living conditions.

2. Nothing better than water for any sort of cleaning purposes.

There is no guarantee that a wipe/paper is going to clean up all the mess down there. Moreover, if one is still experiencing some residue, wiping again and again with a paper would only make the skin red and cause rashes.

Water is way more easy on the skin. Using even the softest of paper cause a certain amount of friction which can lead to itchy, red, irritably dry or scratched skin.

3. Chances of after-smell.

If one uses toilet paper to clean after pooping, chances are there will be some after-smell in the under wear and that can never make you feel fresh. However, there is nothing better than water when it comes to feeling clean and fresh.

Most of the population in a developing nation cannot afford toilet papers, on the other hand water is available easily and you don’t need to spend money on buying it.

In developed nations toilet paper only add to their budget.

Last but not the least, water is recommended by doctors also for maintaining hygiene and reducing the risk of infections against various diseases.

There is no use feeling royal or modern without feeling clean, fresh and hygienic. Keeping this mind many people over the world are now changing from toilet paper to using water/ bidets.

Places where toilet paper was being used solely have also started keeping water outlets in the washrooms. Many European countries have taken to washing themselves with water. And now we all know that it’s not only efficient but also environment friendly.
